BEYONCÉ COWBOY CARTER / Cowboy Carter (also referred to as Act II: Cowboy Carter) is the eighth studio Beyoncé, released on March 29, 2024. The album is the second installment of Beyoncé’s trilogy project, following Renaissance (2022).
Beyoncé conceived Cowboy Carter as a journey through a reinvention of Americana.
Mostly labeled a country album, Cowboy Carter also blends together diverse musical genres such as R&B, pop, hip hop, blues, soul, rock and folk music. Conceptually, the album is presented as a radio broadcast by fictional station “KNTRY Radio Texas”, with country singers Dolly Parton, Linda Martell and Willie Nelson acting as disc jockeys.

Singles Going Steady was the Buzzcocks’ classic Singles compilation originally released in 1979. Re-mastered from the original tapes and with the artwork restored under the supervision of Malcolm Garrett (designer of the original sleeves) along with the addition of essays penned by Jon Savage and Clinton Heylin, the packaging is a wonder to behold.

BROTHER DEGE RETURNS WITH AN ALL NEW ALBUM, DELIVERING MORE OF HIS BLUESY AMERICANA SOUND!
If you make the trek down to Louisiana, you won’t leave the same way you came. Listening to Brother Dege, you breathe in the backwoods air, fall under the spell of the swamp, and get to know the ghosts of the Delta. Materialising at a crossroads between soul-rousing rock and roll, eloquent folk, graveyard Americana, and psychedelic bliss, the GRAMMY Award-nominated troubadour absorbs the spirit of his home state in threads of droning slide guitar, naked vocals, and blood-soaked poetry. On Brother Dege’s sixth full-length “Aurora”, after quietly generating tens of millions of streams, earning widespread acclaim, and carving out a corner in pop culture history with a co-sign by none other than Quentin Tarantino, the American guitarist and singer Dege Legg pulls everyone into his lush musical world. An undercurrent of bluesy distortion tosses and turns in tectonic motion beneath bold hooks as his love for seventies and eighties staples funnels into a twisted 21st century take on Southern rock. He emerges out of this smoke with a vision without comparison, bringing grit and gusto in equal measure to Alt-Americana.
During 2004, when Dege Legg emerged as Brother Dege, he introduced his already fully-developed unique sound via the album debut “Trailerville”. In it’s wake, the sophomore full-length “Folk Songs of the American Longhair” yielded a procession of anthems, including ‘Too Old to Die Young’, which Tarantino personally selected to play over a key sequence in “Django Unchained” and to grace the tracklist of the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.
Dege parlayed this momentum into a string of fan favourite albums, namely “How To Kill A Horse” (2013), “Scorched Earth Policy” (2015), and “Farmer’s Almanac” (2018).
There can be no denying that Brother Dege is heavily influenced by the music and sound of the Deep South, against which he rebelled in his youth. Yet even while the roots remain strong, the American guitarist and singer transcends his song another step further into the universal language of rock and roll with his new masterpiece “Aurora”. Lean back, close your eyes, and let these wonderful songs engulf you.

RISING HARDCORE SUPERSTARS GOUGE AWAY’S DEEP SAGE IS A MUST-LISTEN MASTERPIECE OF PURE RAW FUN!!!
Deep Sage, Gouge Away’s third studio album, started coming together in 2019 during sound checks and in small pockets of downtime between tours. In early 2020, they demoed with Brok Mende in an unassuming storage unit in Orlando. They pulled influence not only from the nostalgia of the bands they grew up listening to but also developed the sense of urgency, noise, and introspective lyrics they felt most represented them. Those demos helped shape the songs into the finished record that Deep Sage would become.
Then everything came to a halt in 2020 when a full year of plans were canceled in an instant. With the rug pulled out from under them, their backs against the wall, and no way to change the situation they were in, the members of Gouge Away had no choice but to go on a hiatus. They moved to different parts of the country and focused on their personal lives, accepting that those songs were never going to see the light of day.
But the songs lived as files waiting to be rediscovered and every once in a while, they’d get the urge to listen to them again. On New Year’s Eve just before 2022, they decided to reconnect and finish writing the album with Portland, OR becoming their new writing location. While everyone was in town for a writing session, Militarie Gun had a show down the street at Mano Oculta and invited Gouge Away to play a couple of songs during their set as a surprise. It was the first show the band had played in three years and the live debut of “Maybe Blue”. Energized by the reaction, the band finished writing. They had an overabundance of material, slashing songs from the final tracklist left and right. They not only elaborated on the urgent and abrasive qualities they were known for but broadened their melodic traits too.
Deep Sage was recorded with Jack Shirley at Atomic Garden East in March 2023 completely analog and almost entirely live. The band recorded together in a live room while Christina was in an isolation booth. Her vocals projected from a monitor so the band could hear her. The goal of recording live was to sound like five friends playing in a room together, just like where they started in Florida. Unpolished and far from being over-produced, this is what the heart of Gouge Away has always been.

You know us: it’s rare we miss a date, and trust us: it was a very hard decision to make (and we hung in there as long as we could to try and still meet our 8/19/23 opening date for MUSIC & VIDEO), but due to a few project delays beyond our control, we have made the decision to push back the opening of THIRD EYE MUSIC & VIDEO to 1/27/24.
Opening a store this large has a ton of logistics issues involved, and at the end of the day, our goal is to give you the BEST darn experience we can when you first walk through the doors of this exciting new addition to the Third Eye Universe!
While the delays definitely prevent us from meeting the 8/19/23 date, we could meet a date sooner than 1/27/24, but it’d be very close to the holiday season, and opening a brand new store at the midst of the madness that is Third Eye during the holidays would stretch the incredible folks that make up Team Third Eye in our stores very thin, and we’d rather they stay fresh & focused on making your holidays the best they can in our existing stores!
With that being said: our date of 1/27/24 has been purposefully set a little further out, so we can tell you right now: this is our concrete start date for MUSIC & VIDEO, and gives us a little bit of time to not only make sure the new store is up to the high Third Eye standards you expect, but also add even more cool stuff to not just the store itself, but also the grand opening event — so definitely stay tuned for more on that as we get through the Fall!
And, beginning 9/17/23, we’ll be sharing weekly behind-the-scenes photos & video on the Third Eye social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, & Instagram) giving you a chance to watch as the store comes together!
We want to sincerely apologize for any disappointment this delay may cause, and more importantly, because we know how awesome you all are, Third Eye Faithful, we want to thank you in advance for your understanding about the delays and our concerns in making sure that we deliver you an opening day that’ll truly special!
In the meantime, we’ll continue to stock tons of fun movies, records & more as we have been in our Third Eye Games location in Annapolis, so don’t worry: you can get all your fav vinyl from us each & every week right up until the opening of Third Eye Music & Video!

For 15 years, we’ve helped you read comics, play games, and collect toys… and now, this August, we’ll be helping you spin records & watch your favorite flicks, and in the best way possible: the beauty that is the physical real-deal in-hand format!
We’ll be opening our newest addition to the Third Eye Annapolis Mothership super-stores, Third Eye Music & Video, on Saturday 1/27/24
This store will be located directly in-between Third Eye Comics & Third Eye Games at 209 Chinquapin Round Rd Suite 300 in Annapolis, MD, and will be equal in size to those two stores.
That’s right, Third Eye Faithful: over 8,000 SQF of music, movies, and everything in between!
In 2020, we began carrying vinyl records, blu-ray & DVDs, and all sorts of assorted items related to them at the Third Eye Games & Hobbies storefront in Annapolis, MD.
We began carrying these items because of one simple reason:
We’re huge music people at Third Eye & we always thought it’d be cool to share our passion for it with you, and nerd out on a whole new category of things we love with our favorite people: YOU!
In addition: we love all things physical media, and as one of the few remaining subscribers to NETFLIX’s mail-away DVD service (crap, we gotta send back our latest ones tomorrow!): we know the value and joy in popping in a movie and watching it start to finish, and never having to worry about it disappearing from one of the plethora of streaming services out there.
So, music & movies: we dove into, and it turned out — you all loved these things as much as us!
3 years later, after watching these small sections turn into massive parts of THIRD EYE GAMES & HOBBIES, we realized: we gotta give these sections the room they deserve to grow & keep being awesome for you!
And, that’s THIRD EYE MUSIC & VIDEO, just like we celebrate the joy of sitting down and diving into a physical book or comic, connecting with flesh-and-blood human beings over a new game, or tearing open the packaging on a dope new action figure: we are stoked to bring you a Third Eye store dedicated to the joys of spinning your fav records with friends & hitting up the video shop to take home a grindhouse gorefest you’ve just heard about and have been dying to discover!
PLUS: we’ve been carefully listening to all the feedback you’ve given us over the last few years, and with the extra room, we’ll be able to make our record bins easier to browse, better organized & way more room for us to showcase our favorite genres and artists!
You’ll also see the introduction of other formats, including cassettes, CDs, and heck: we’re even working on bringing VHS to you.
And…. for those of you who miss those Friday night trips to rent your next favorite movie: well, we don’t want to spoil too much, but we’ve got something pretty exciting in store for you!
Third Eye Music & Video will be opening on Saturday 1/27/24, and will be located in the center space in between THIRD EYE COMICS & THIRD EYE GAMES in Annapolis.
We’ve got so many cool things on the way for it — and we’re really excited to share them with you as we get closer and closer to the opening date, so please make sure to follow us:
