THE NEWEST FROM THE STORY SO FAR DROPS WITH I WANT TO DISAPPEAR THIS NEW RECORD FRIDAY!!!

Inspired by both energetic pop-punk and the wistfulness of classic emo acts, Walnut Creek, California punk quintet The Story So Far formed in 2007. The founding lineup included vocalist Parker Cannon, guitarists Kevin Geyer and Kevin Ambrose, drummer Ryan Torf, and bassist Kelen Capener. Ambrose left the band in 2010, and was replaced by William Levy. The group signed with Pure Noise Records and released it’s debut full-length, Under Soil and Dirt, in 2011. Amid a heavy touring schedule, they also managed to release multiple EPs and split releases before offering up their second album, What You Don’t See, in 2013. It spent a week on the Billboard 200 at number 46, a feat outdone by their eponymous 2015 LP, which reached number 23. They returned to the studio in the spring of 2017 to record their fourth album, which was teased by the single “Out of It” that September.

Now, the beloved indie band is back with their first new music in six years, “Burial Ground.” Already a fan-favorite after being debuted live last year, their latest single takes the overt fatalism of 2018’s I’ll Be Your Girl and infuses it with the jangle-pop of The Dentists and dreamy harmonies of The Beach Boys (performed with an assist from The Shins’ James Mercer). “Burial Ground is in that time-honored popsong tradition, a paean to hanging out in graveyards,” says songwriter Colin Meloy. “The melody hook came to me in a dream and I hummed it into my phone on waking. CRUSTPUNK LEGENDS NAUSEA’S CLASSIC EPS GET A VINYL RELEASE WITH THE CYBERGOD / LIE CYCLE!!!

“Description” Svart Records release NYC crust punk band Nausea’s two legendary EP’s on one remastered 12″ in March 2024! Crust punk originates from the misty moors and factory cities of the UK. Since the ’80s, countless bands have been established to play their dirty apocalyptic ruckus in the vein of Amebix, Antisect, and Axegrinder. At the same time, across the ocean, in the squats of New York’s Lower East Side, bassist John John Jesse founded Nausea. Svart Records is releasing Nausea’s two legendary EPs in 12″ format for the first time ever, including the Cybergod 7″ from 1991 – with a bonus track, “Here Today,” from the same recording sessions – and the Lie Cycle 7″ from 1992. All tracks are remastered from the original, untouched studio tapes by Jack Control (Darkthrone, Kohti Tuhoa, Fear). Tribal and rocking apocalyptic crust for apocalyptic times. The Cybergod lineup might be the most legendary era of Nausea, where the tracks reach almost epic proportions. The EP is pretty much the blueprint of crust, where Vic Venom’s hypnotic and rocking guitar riffs meet the tribal drumming of Roy Mayorga. Al Hoon’s and Amy Miret’s dueling vocals spit out timeless issues dealing with consumerism and the hypocrisies of organized religions. Musically, the Lie Cycle EP rocks out more in the faster and straightforward style, where Discharge meets Motörhead, and lyrics reflect the times when war and nuclear destruction are still the plague of mankind. Nausea’s timeline lasted only seven years, but they managed to create a cult following with their true dedication to the punk scene and played shows in the squats of Europe and the eastern part of Europe. Their music is timeless, unpleasant music for unpleasant times, but hey! At least it’s more fun to rock out to the apocalypse! RED VINYL

HELLRIPPER’S BLACK ARTS & ALCHEMY EP SERVES UP BLACKENED THRASH METAL ANTHEMS!

Limited orange colored vinyl LP pressing. Following the release of debut album ‘Coagulating Darkness’ in 2017 which thrust Hellripper firmly into the gaze of underground metal maniacs, the ‘Black Arts & Alchemy’ EP brought even more attention & notoriety to this special act upon it’s release in 2019, as Hellripper’s ascent gained further momentum. With four black/thrash anthems delivered in Hellripper’s uncompromising & unwavering style & including an additional cover version of Running Wild’s “Iron Heads”, the release demonstrated an ongoing mastery of composition & execution whilst remaining true to the firm heavy metal roots which had brought so much appraisal to date. Featuring the band’s trademark intricate & expertly-crafted concoction of hyperspeed riffing & solos, ‘Black Arts & Alchemy’ was also notably mastered by Joel Grind of celebrated US thrashers “Toxic Holocaust”. Inspired by the likes of old-school legends including Venom, Kreator, Sabbat [JPN] & Metallica, James McBain formed Hellripper in 2014 & with the release of the debut EP ‘The Manifestation Of Evil’ shortly after, the Scottish band was already making a very clear statement of hellish destruction with an electrifying brand of blackened thrash. Building on the momentum of the debut EP with a string of split releases, the debut album ‘Coagulating Darkness’ was released in 2017 to media acclaim, with the UK’s Metal Hammer hailing Hellripper as “Scotland’s King of the arcane mosh” & the band receiving attention throughout Europe & the US.
