Our favorite comic on the stands right now!
OK, folks: you can breathe that sigh of relief — SAGA is here.
This week marks the release of the highly anticipated 3rd volume of the comic that is pretty much every single member of team Third Eye’s favorite right now, and we know you guys are eager to get your hands on it.
For those of you who may not yet be reading SAGA, we’ve gotta tell you: get into this book. No matter your tastes, trust us — you’ll love it.
One part Joss Whedon’s FIREFLY, one part A GAME OF THRONES, SAGA is like an R-Rated Star Wars that grabs a hold of you with compelling characters, sharp plot twists, and great dialogue, and does not let go.
The incredible writing of Y: THE LAST MAN writer BRIAN K. VAUGHAN and the gorgeous rendering of artist FIONA STAPLES makes each and every installment of this series a pure treat, on every level.
What’s it all about? Picture this: SAGA is the sweeping tale of one young family fighting to find their place in the worlds.
When two soldiers from opposite sides of a never-ending galactic war fall in love, they risk everything to bring a fragile new life into a dangerous old universe.
Fantasy and science fiction are wed like never before in a sexy, subversive drama for adults.

AMERICAN VAMPIRE: SECOND CYCLE #1 — THE WAKE &  BATMAN: Court of Owls & Zero Year writer SCOTT SNYDER goes for the jugular in AMERICAN VAMPIRE!
The BEST Vampire stuff you’ve read in a long time! Start with this new series, which is a great jumping on point!
Before Scott Snyder blew you guys away with his incredible work on BATMAN: COURT OF OWLS, BATMAN: CITY OF OWLS, and BATMAN: DEATH OF THE FAMILY, he was reinventing the vampire mythos in his creator-owned AMERICAN VAMPIRE series.
Now, after a short hiatus, the series returns with a brand new ongoing that serves as the PERFECT jumping on point for new readers, and a great place to hop back in for fans of the previous run.
Featuring AMERICAN VAMPIRE artist RAFAEL ALBUQUERQUE, Snyder and Albuquerque return to bring their blood-soaked opus into the 1960s.
The story so far… Pearl Jones is a new kind of vampire, one of an American breed that can walk in the sun and has rattlesnake fangs.
She’s beautiful and powerful — and she’s hiding from a tragic past.
Skinner Sweet is an American vamp too — the kind you love to hate. He’s good when he wants to be, but most of the time he’s the most vile creature alive or undead.
He’s Pearl’s maker, but now, he’s ventured into Mexico with an agenda of his own.
Will their two stories collide, or are they separated forever?
And who is this new villain on the horizon, someone bloodier and more evil than anything seen in American Vampire before?
Who is the Gray Trader and what does his arrival mean for Skinner and Pearl?
Whether you’re a long-time fan, or you’ve never read the series before, we highly recommend checking out this extra-sized new series which serves as the perfect place to jump onto one of the best comics to come out in the last few years.
If you think Snyder kills it on BATMAN and THE WAKE, wait’ll you get a load of his incredible work on AMERICAN VAMPIRE.
Wanna get into the earlier stuff? We’ve got AMERICAN VAMPIRE trades volume 1-5 in stock now to get you current.

ALAN MOORE & KEVIN O’NEILLS LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN CONTINUES TO BE EXPLORED IN THE BRAND NEW GRAPHIC NOVEL: NEMO: ROSES OF BERLIN THIS WEDNESDAY!
One of our favorite comic series!
We are HUGE fans of Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill’s incredible LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN series, and I gotta say, every single installment has delivered an incredible read each time through.
So, when we saw that they’d keep things rolling with another venture into the world of League with the new NEMO: ROSES OF BERLIN graphic novella, we knew we were in for a treat.
In the thrilling tradition of last year’s NEMO: HEART OF ICE, Moore and O’Neill rampage through twentieth-century culture in a blazing new adventure.
It’s now 1941, and with her daughter strategically married into the family of aerial warlord Jean Robur, Janni’s raiders have only limited contact with the military might of the clownish German-Tomanian dictator Adenoid Hynkel.
But, when the pirate queen learns that her loved ones are held hostage in the nightmarish Berlin, she has no choice save to intervene directly, traveling with her aging lover Broad Arrow Jack into the belly of the beastly metropolis.
Within that alienated city await monsters, criminals and legends, including the remaining vestiges of Germany’s notorious ‘Twilight Heroes’, a dark Teutonic counterpart to Mina Murray’s League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
And, waiting at the far end of this gauntlet of alarming adversaries there is something much, much worse.
Folks: Moore’s work on LEAGUE is amazing. Please: disregard the movie, as the books are so much better, and nothing like the film.
Moore takes nearly every literary figure from both classic and modern fiction, and weaves them into reality to tell a stories where Mina Harker from Dracula is one of the world’s greatest defenders, James Bond starts out as a failure and a sociopath, and Harry Potter is a demonic entity brought into existence to destroy mankind.
I’m serious: these books are crazy good, and we highly recommend them.
You can either start fresh by trying NEMO: ROSES OF BERLIN, or go back to the very beginning with the first LEAGUE book.

MS MARVEL #2 — THE BRAND NEW MS. MARVEL SERIES CONTINUES THIS WEDNESDAY, DELIVERING ANOTHER GREAT ISSUE!
Last month’s MS. MARVEL #1 was a stellar read, and we loved every second of it as a killer new character was introduced to the Marvel line-up, and now issue #2 looks to deliver another great read.
Writer G. Willow Wilson and artist Adrian Alphona (of RUNAWAYS fame) are doing an incredible job here as Ms. Marvel establishes itself as yet another kick-ass new MARVEL NOW title.
In Ms. Marvel #2, Kamala Khan’s very ordinary life has suddenly become extraordinary. Is she ready to wield these strange and immense new gifts? Or will the weight of the legacy before her be too much to handle?
Wanna get caught up? We’ve got issue 1 in stock and available now to catch you up to this week’s #2.

Rush’s CLOCKWORK ANGELS comes to comics with CLOCKWORK ANGELS #1 this Wednesday!
There are just some things that go well together, and the music of the band RUSH and comics are one of those things.
Now, Rush’s CLOCKWORK ANGELS is being brought into the world of comics by Rush drummer and lyricist,Neil Peart and Kevin J. Anderson, alongside artist Nick Robles, and we cannot wait to sit down and see how it translates.
We know many of you long-time Rush fans have always been curious about seeing Peart’s narrative songwriting being adapted over into comics, but we think fans of just plain awesome comics in general will dig this.
Clockwork Angels delivers a fantastic steampunk journey into the world of Albion, as we meet the character Owen Hardy.
Like all the people of Albion, Owen has lived his whole life under the rule of the Watchmaker. His entire life has been planned down to the exact second.
But, what happens when a young boy decides that things should not always go as planned?

Joss Whedon and Buffy return in BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER SEASON 10 #1 this Wednesday!
As many of you know, we’re pretty huge Buffy fans here at Third Eye, and loved the entire television series all the way through to it’s ned.
So, as you can imagine, when they brought Buffy back under the direction of Whedon as a comic… well, we pretty much got hooked all over again.
Now, after a successful run on SEASON 8 and SEASON 9 (both available in graphic novel format), BUFFY SEASON 10 begins, and we cannot wait to see the direction Joss has the characters heading.
The age old battle of Slayer vs. Vampire is the focus of Buffy’s life once again — heck, this first issue makes us downright nostalgic!
But, with all the toying with magic she’s done lately, Buffy should know it’s time for another game change — shouldn’t she?
Featuring executive production and guidance by Joss Whedon, the BUFFY comics are the official in-canon continuation of the cult favorite TV series, and we highly recommend giving it a shot.
You can either start with season 10, or go back to SEASON 8, which is the first line of comics to pick up immediately where the television series finished.

IMAGE COMICS DELIVERS AN INCREDIBLE NEW FANTASY SERIES IN THE VEIN OF TOLKIEN & GEORGE RR MARTIN WITHSOVEREIGN #1
A MUST READ!
Third Eye Faithful, we gotta say: IMAGE nails it nearly every time, delivering kick-ass reads on the regular again and again, and this week’s SOVEREIGN #1 is another IMAGE title that blew us away.
In a world where gods, demons, and magic have slipped into myth, Sovereign tells the story of masked undertakers facing the undead with swords while civil wars threaten the delicate balance between colliding cultures.
But, out of the ashes of history rises a new threat and the promise that magic has not yet faded into mere memory.
Chris Roberson (I,ZOMBIE) and artist Paul Maybury bring to life a multi-layered fantasy series featuring a very TOLKIEN-esque tale of war, magic, and the humanity that co-exists in both.
A must-read for fans of books like SAGA and EAST OF WEST, give SOVEREIGN a shot this Wednesday.

SCOTT SNYDER (THE WAKE, BATMAN COURT OF OWLS) AND JIM LEE (JUSTICE LEAGUE, BATMAN: HUSH) CONTINUE TO MAKE MAGIC WITH SUPERMAN UNCHAINED IN SUPERMAN UNCHAINED #6 THIS WEDNESDAY!
We’ve been loving the work that Snyder & Lee have been doing on SUPERMAN UNCHAINED, as they’ve quickly made this the must-read SUPERMAN title of the NEW 52, and in the process, reinvigorated the Man of Steel in a whole new way.
In SUPERMAN UNCHAINED #6, the Man of Tomorrow and the Superman of yesterday go at it — no holds barred!
Supes goes full throttle after his would-be ally, Wraith, in a seismic battle ranging from deep space to the ocean’s floor and ultimately the core of the Earth!
Meanwhile, Lois Lane holds the key to defeating Ascension, but she needs to reach the Fortress of Solitude to ensure its safekeeping — not to mention her’s!
Jim Lee’s incredible artwork paired with Snyder’s sharp storytelling make this one a must-read.

ONE OF OUR FAVORITE NEW IMAGE SERIES, SEX CRIMINALS, CONTINUES THIS WEDNESDAY WITH SEX CRIMINALS #5
FROM “HAWKEYE” Writer MATT FRACTION!
One of the best written, most compelling new series we’ve seen from IMAGE in the last year has gotta be MATT FRACTION’s incredible SEX CRIMINALS series.
This stunning sci-fi series is just a great read in every way possible, and continues to impress the heck out of all of us here at Third Eye.
In SEX CRIMINALS #5, we’re reminded that the best part of a new relationship is the first three weeks, right? The rush of the new, the gravitational pull of the sudden other-ness in your life, the almost illicit charge of nothing else mattering… and, then it’s time to pay the bills.
Well, the honeymoon is over for the SEX CRIMINALS. Can Jon and Suzie survive Jon and Suzie?
This incredible new series is the tale of two regular folks, who have an irregular gift: when they.. ya know.. they stop time. And, sooner or later, they get around to using their gifts to do something not so well-intentioned: they stop time, and rob banks.
From there, the world of Sex Criminals takes you on a heartfelt, hilarious, and downright entertaining journey that keeps you hooked all the way through.
Highly recommended  — we’ve got issues 1-4 in stock now to catch you up to this week’s #5.

ONE OF OUR FAVORITE NEW SERIES, ZERO, CONTINUES WITH ZERO #6 THIS WEDNESDAY!
HOP ABOARD ONE OF THE BEST NEW COMICS OF 2014!
ZERO is by far, one of the most fun, and most exciting new comics to launch in the last year.
Seriously, this book just gets better and better with each issue, and is that rare kind of title that transcends genre, and totally leaves you guessing with each and every installment.
What is ZERO? Well, first off, let’s talk about what makes it so unique — each issue of ZERO is a stand-alone a story, a mission in the life of secret agent extraordinaire EDWARD ZERO, so you can literally start anywhere, and read this great book.
However, the entire series has an over-arching story which focuses on Agent Zero’s slow realization that the agency he’s been doing all sorts of dirty work for… isn’t really looking out for the best interests of the world as a whole.
And, what he does when he realizes this.
With every inch of space in the comic being utilized, ZERO literally takes you cover to cover, front to back, on a compelling thrill ride of a read that does not let go all the way through.
Writer ALES KOT, who many of you met last week at our big SECRET AVENGERS #1 Launch event, weaves a dense, layered, and beautiful story here — but, the real appeal of ZERO is he’s able to take this layered, complex story and tell it in a manner that’s fast, quick, and addicting.
In issue #6, the Large Hadron Collider. Edward Zero’s newly gained knowledge. A man with a plan to end the universe so a better one can be born. They all connect here.
Folks: this is where it all comes together, and it’s all explained.
Snag a copy of issue #6, or hop on with the first trade paperback, collecting 1-5, or the back issues of 1-5 (all in stock now) and get into it.

DARK HORSE DEBUTS GRIM MONSTER-HUNTING AWESOMENESS IN THE WITCHER #1 THIS WEDNESDAY
We love a good pulpy horror story in the vein of the HELLBOY stuff, and classic Robert E. Howard goodies like SOLOMON KANE, so when we saw that Dark Horse was bringing the world of THE WITCHER to comics, we knew it’d be awesome.
Traveling near the edge of the Black Forest, monster hunter Geralt meets a widowed fisherman whose dead and murderous wife resides in an eerie mansion known as the House of Glass — which seems to have endless rooms, nothing to fill them with, and horror around every corner.
