Third Eye Faithful, there’s some books that we’ll see a single image from, and just know: this is going to be special, and the upcoming IMAGE COMICS ongoing series, COPPERHEAD, was one of those books.
When I first saw the teaser images, I knew this book had potential to be one of Image’s most exciting releases of 2014, and after reading the previews — I have to tell you: that initial gut feeling was totally right. This book is incredible.
I mean, when SAGA writer Brian K. Vaughan calls it his favorite new book of the year — that’s high praise, right? Well, it’s totally well deserved.
The story of COPPERHEAD is a fantastic read that will captivate those of you who love top shelf awesome Image reads like EAST OF WEST, SAGA, BLACK SCIENCE, and LOW.
Clara Bronson is a single mother and the new sheriff in Copperhead, a small mining town on a distant planet. But, while Clara might seem like an ordinary lady in many respects, she has one or two secrets she’s hiding .. and secrets don’t last long in a small town like Copperhead.
No one’s quite sure where Clara came from, or why she took the job as Sheriff in the first place. Some suspect she might be on the run from someone, trying to start life anew. Being the sheriff of grimy, dust-laden Copperhead is no one’s idea of dream job — except for maybe the deputy, who had his sets sight on being sheriff long before Clara ever arrived.
And, if you think Clara’s secrets are deep — wait until you learn the strange mysteries that surround this little community.
Set in the 24th century and featuring Western archetypes through a sci-fi lens, Copperhead is a fresh new series that is going to grab a hold of you and not let go.
Now, considering how excited we are for the book — you guys know we just had to do something special, right?

Other Projects by Jay & Scott
In addition to COPPERHEAD, Jay and Scott have both wowed us with previous projects, and we’re really excited to be having these two talented individuals out.
Near Death was a big favorite of our’s, as it really did the hardboiled modern crime noir genre right, and we’re totally pumped to have the chance to get our own copies of this great series signed by Mr. Faerber.
This critically acclaimed crime series tells the story of Markham, a professional killer who has a near death experience during a botched job. Determined to avoid ever returning to the Hell he glimpsed, Markham has dedicated himself to balancing the scales. He’s going to save a life for every one he’s taken — and, folks, that’s a lot of lives.
We’ll have copies of NEAR DEATH VOL.1 and VOL.2 in stock and available for you to scoop and get signed during our signing with Jay & Scott on 9/20!
Dynamo 5 is another long-time favorite of our’s, as it puts a very real world, slice-of-life spin on the world of capes and tights. In Dynamo 5, Captain Dynamo was the world’s greatest hero, but not necessarily the most faithful husband.
Now, he’s dead and his family is trying to piece their lives together. As his enemies descend on his unprotected city, Captain Dynamo’s widow rounds up his five illegitimate children, each of whom have inherited one of their father’s super-powers.
Can these total strangers come to term with their powers, their father’s legacy, and each other as total chaos erupts?
We’ll have al 5 volumes, collecting the entire DYNAMO 5 saga, in stock and available for you to check out at our event!
A real hidden gem, Dracula Company of Monster, featuring art by Scott, is a total blast. In DRACULA COMPANY OF MONSTERS, a powerful, predatory corporation acquires a valuable asset – Dracula – but no one can own the Son of the Dragon. There’s a monster in their midst that puts Hannibal Lecter to shame — and he plans to gain his freedom in blood!
A very fascinating, modern spin on the Dracula mythos — we’ll have copies available of the graphic novel for you to scoop at the signing!
