LOW ROAD WEST SIGNING TOUR with Phillip K. Johnson!
Published August 22nd, 2018
Hey Third Eye Faithful! As you can probably tell – Semptember is a PACKED month for us. Between all of the super cool signings, Batman Day and Baltimore Comic Con – we’ve been a little busy. But as always, that means tons of AWESOME events for you guys – including our second THIRD EYE SIGNING TOUR featuring local legend Phillip K. Johnson!
One of the things we love about Phillip is his ability to build beautiful, poignant worlds shrouded in dystopian desolance. His previous works WARLOARDS OF APPALACHIA and LAST SONS OF AMERICA both combine real world struggle and conflict, with SCI-FI futurism.
We have a feeling that LOW ROAD WEST is going to be one of the breakouts of Fall, and we are SO stoked to have Phillip in for his FIRST Third Eye event! He will be signing at ALL THREE Third Eye locations!
If you know anything about us – you know we love dystopian story telling. And as far as that goes – Phillip is one of the best.
LOW ROAD WEST takes place in an irradiated Oklahoma wasteland. When young refugees become stranded among the mess, they take shelter in a ghost town that is much more than it seems
The strange, unnatural threats they face there will make them question what they think they know about death, about reality, and especially about family as they learn to rely on each other to survive.
If you’re looking for a precursor of sorts to Low Road West, WARLORDS OF APPALACHIA is it. It’s a Sci-Fi military epic that gives off GI Joe meets Southern Bastards.
Following the controversial election of an enigmatic dictator, the United States was plunged into a Second Civil War, in the aftermath of which only Kentucky refused to acknowledge the fascist state’s sovereignty.
Now a demilitarized zone located in the heart of America, it will take the combined forces of civilians and criminals to overthrow the occupation.
In leading this rebellion, former mechanic and reluctant folk hero Kade Mercer will become the first feudal warlord of Appalachia.
Not only is Phillip a MASTER at creating his own unique worlds, he’s great at building upon existing story arcs as well. Phillip spins a beautifully heart wrenching story that builds on the complexities of Aquaman throughout the rebirth saga.
Aquaman’s dream of unity between surface and sea has come true! A utopia of human and Atlantean ingenuity, and a symbol of harmony between the two cultures, the city of Crownspire is Arthur Curry’s greatest achievement.
There Aquaman, Mera, and Tom Curry live in content. But who built Crownspire? Where is Murk?
And what exactly is Tom Curry?
Something is very wrong with Aquaman’s world, and if he doesn’t find out soon he may never live to see another day.
